Boldenone undecylenate was originally developed in the 1950s by CIBA when it was released for use in humans under the brand name of parenabol. The drug was used for the next two decades with some success but was discontinued by the end of the 1970s.
When it was in use for humans, it was prescribed for osteoporosis due to its ability to increase bone mass density and to protect ligaments.
The next release of boldenone undecylenate was under the brand of Equipoise, but intended only for use in animals, more specifically cattle and horses. It remains on the market but only for veterinary use.
Currently, there is no country in the world which has approved this steroid for human use.
Boldenone undecylenate was created to be a long-acting version of Dianabol and is based on the same hormone. However, unlike Dianabol, boldenone undecylenate and Equipoise have a long-acting ester attached which is what extends its half-life.
